Introduction to Homeopathy
Nenningers Naturals believes that an essential component in making sound health choices is education. To follow is a brief introduction to homeopathic medicine to get you started on your journey.
Homeopathic medicine has been practiced across the globe for more than 200 years. In many European countries, like France and Great Britain, it is often the first medicine that physicians prescribe. With homeopathy’s long history behind it, today it is one of the fastest growing fields of natural medicine worldwide. Homeopathy is a medical science that offers a safe, natural approach. It uses homeopathic remedies that mimic illness and stimulate healing. There are more than 2,000 homeopathic remedies made from natural substances, primarily derived from plants, minerals and elements. |
Homeopathic medicine is based on the principle of “like cures like” (also called the “law of similars”) that was understood by such great thinkers as Aristotle and Hippocrates. It was Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician, who proved the concept that medicine is something that can produce the symptoms it is trying to cure. Through his research, he found that the process of highly diluting and succussing his tinctures – called potentization – the remedies became more powerful and longer-acting and provided benefit without harm. Homeopathic products are required to follow strict guidelines in the U.S. set forth by theHomeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS), which is recognized by the FDA. Homeopathics are also subject to regulations on marketing, labeling, good manufacturing practices and quality control under the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (FDCA).
Nenningers Naturals uses only HPUS approved remedies and potencies in its homeopathic formulas and produces its’ products at facilities that adhere to these rigorous manufacturing and quality control standards. |
